2 Madeira events in 1: Flower Festival and Wine Festival

This year the Flower Festival takes place between the 3rd and 27th of September and is part of the Wine Festival. It will leave no one indifferent: we’ll be able to make a toast with the nectar of the gods to the bold decorations of flowers.

This year, you can’t really miss it!

Madeira Flower Festival

With the theme “Madeira, Flower Universe”, over 50 performances from 9 groups will replace the usual procession of the Flower Festival, in three different spaces in the city of Funchal, and on the first and the third weekend of September.

Madeira Wine Festival

The Wine Festival in Funchal will last two weeks to celebrate the wine harvest season – an activity that you can experience – and will give you the chance to get to know the essence of such high-quality wines as our Madeira Wine.

Central Plate of Avenida Arriaga: 

Market for flowers and regional flavours (little houses)

Concerts (light music, world music, choral singing, jazz, traditional music and philharmonic orchestras shows)

Exhibition of Madeira Embroidery and Regional Handcrafts by IVBAM

Decorations alluding to the celebrations, exhibitions, living pictures that recreate the labour in the vineyard
