All about the Funchal City Tour Booking.

We will begin our tour visiting Santa Catarina’s Park to enjoy the views of the beautiful amphitheatre of Funchal and then walk to São Francisco’s Garden to explore the amazing world of plants. We will continue to the Cathedral, the seat of the largest diocese in the world in the 15th century, to admire the remarkable altarpiece and the ceiling in the Moorish style. After, we will visit the Jesuit’s church, considered the most beautiful on the island with the most original and splendid Portuguese artistic expressions – the gilded woodcarving and the tiles. Next, we will stroll through the colourful Farmers’ Market with stalls full of fruits and flowers and maybe find some produce you didn’t know to exist. To finish, we will walk through the Rua de Santa Maria, famous for its street artwork doors, until the Fort of São Tiago in the Old Town. Spend a morning immersed in our local history and culture. Please note: since this booking requires confirmation, you do not need to pay at checkout. Reserve your seat now, and if we reach 4 adults paying, we will send an email 24 hours before the tour.

Madeira island holidays are the ideal getaway all year round. Madeira weather in coastal areas is temperate and mild with no great extremes-although the temperature can drop the higher you go on the island so, whatever time of year you visit, be sure to bring warm clothes when visiting the mountains. Obviously, rainfall is higher in the winter and you’ll probably need to pack a rain coat or umbrella. Madeira’s average temperatures range from 18C in winter to 25C in summer, with sea temperatures being nearly the same due to a warm Gulf Stream that surrounds the Island all year round, 18C to 22C.

The dress code for our tours is comfortable and casual. Dressing in layers gives most comfort as you can shed and add items when the climate varies. Consider packing.

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • An all-weather coat
  • Comfortable clothing
