All about the Jeep East Tour.

Leaving Funchal, we’ll reach Pico do Arieiro (1818 m.) for a fabulous 360-degree panoramic view of the Central Mountain Range. Next, we will make a stop at Ribeiro Frio Natural Park, where it will be possible to visit a trout farm, surrounded by a relict Tertiary forest called the Laurissilva – a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. At Lombo Galego, in São Roque do Faial, we will experience a real “off-road” adventure! Starting at Cova da Roda, we will pass through Pico das Pedras up to the Queimadas Natural Park at 980 metres. After lunch (not included) and crossing Faial, we will stop at Porto da Cruz to visit the distillery where rum is produced from sugar cane with a 19th-century steam engine (unique in Europe). The last stop before returning to Funchal will be at the east end of the island, at Ponta de São Lourenço. Compared to the rest of the island, the contrasting landscape and the panoply of colours of the cliffs and rocks will surprise you. Don’t miss out! Book now!

Madeira island holidays are the ideal getaway all year round. Madeira weather in coastal areas is mild with no great extremes – although the temperature can drop the higher you go on the island, whatever time of year you visit, be sure to bring warm clothes when visiting the mountains. Obviously, rainfall is higher in the winter, and you will probably need to pack a raincoat or umbrella. Madeira’s average temperatures range from 18C in winter to 25C in summer, with sea temperatures nearly the same because of a warm Gulf Stream that surrounds the Island all year round, 18C through 22C.
