Overview
We will begin our journey driving through spectacular scenery to EIRA DO SERRADO. Once at the top, you can enjoy a stunning view of the “Nuns’ Valley”, the most hidden village of Madeira, and the surrounding Massif Central. Our next stop will be at PICO DO ARIEIRO (1818 m), one of Madeira’s most beautiful mountains. You will be amazed by the beautiful scenery over the rugged volcanic peaks. Then we will walk a 1-hour round trip to the NINHO DA MANTA VIEWPOINT, supposedly because the prey birds known as buzzards (Buteo buteo) nested here centuries ago. This viewpoint is between the trail of Pico do Areeiro and Pico Ruivo (Peaks hike), giving you a chance to appreciate the northern part of Madeira Island and rock formations, often above the clouds. Now, return to Pico do Arieiro. The way back will give different views, even if you are on the same footpath. Return to Funchal. Book your seat now!
