In the magic and history of one of the most beautiful gardens in the world.
From: €48.00
In the 19th century, the growth of therapeutic tourism in Madeira in the winter because of the mild climate led to the construction of the “Monte Palace Hotel”. The then owner built a palace inspired in the architecture of the Rhine and decorated the garden with little lakes, water jets, and winding walks. The romantic taste of its origin didn’t change, but, the present owner embellished the garden with exotic plants, such as cycads, often called “living fossils”, tree ferns, and native plants of the “Laurisilva” forest, designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Walking through the garden, we can also admire the famous collection of tiles, the Oriental and Orchid gardens, and Karpe Koi. Don’t miss out this fascinating garden while in Madeira. Please note: since this booking requires confirmation, you do not need to pay at checkout. Reserve your seat now, and if we reach 6 adults paying, we will send an email 24 hours before the tour.
We can still pick you up upon an extra charge for hotels out of the city (€ per vehicle) or, if you have your car, we can set the time and meeting point in Funchal.

Our vehicle will have a very clear card (a banner) with our company logo on the windscreen and in case of being a group, the name of the group printed on it. Our driver or Tourist Guide will also have a list of the passenger’s name.
There are many steps to negotiate and it is not accessible to wheelchair users. My suggestion is that you buy the tram round-trip ticket and enjoy a small part of the garden while the group is going around.
It is good for kids, but please feel free to book privately if you prefer.

Madeira island holidays are the ideal getaway all year round. Madeira weather in coastal areas is temperate and mild with no great extremes-although the temperature can drop the higher you go on the island so, whatever time of year you visit, be sure to bring warm clothes when visiting the mountains. Obviously, rainfall is higher in the winter and you’ll probably need to pack a raincoat or umbrella. Madeira’s average temperatures range from 18C in winter to 25C in summer, with sea temperatures being nearly the same due to a warm Gulf Stream that surrounds the Island all year round, 18C to 22C.
The dress code for our tours is comfortable and casual. Dressing in layers gives most comfort as you can shed and add items when the climate varies. Consider packing.
Tours operate rain or shine, but in the case of inclement weather, your Tourist Guide will modify the tour so more time is spent indoors. It never hurts to have an umbrella on hand.
