All about the Wine Tour with Lunch in the Vineyard.

Join us and enjoy this wonderful full-day winery experience in incredible scenery. We will first take you to Madeira’s most important vine extension, where we plant the vineyard traditionally in a “Latada” (trellised vine) system. Here, we will visit two different wine producers and combine modernity with tradition: Madeira fortified wine and Madeira table wine. We will take you through the entire winemaking, including the history of the ageing process that made Madeira fortified wines so famous. Both visits end with a tasting of their wines. Our last stop will be São Vicente, the iconic village in the northern part of the island. We will visit the vineyards to understand how environmental factors such as soil, microclimate, and farming methods affect the character of Madeira wine. Afterwards, we will welcome you to experience our exquisite cuisine while enjoying the beauty of the vineyards. The 3-course lunch includes an aperitif and digestive. During this tour, you will discover Madeira wines and the Demarcated Region of Madeira and taste Madeira’s famous fortified wines, white, red and rose table wines, and local rum. Please note: since this booking requires confirmation, you do not need to pay at checkout. Reserve your seat now, and if we reach 4 adults paying, we will send an email 24 hours before the tour.

Madeira weather in coastal areas is temperate and mild with no great extremes-although the temperature can drop the higher you go on the island so, whatever time of year you visit, be sure to bring warm clothes when visiting the mountains. Obviously, rainfall is higher in the winter and you’ll probably need to pack a rain coat or umbrella. Madeira’s average temperatures range from 18C in winter to 25C in summer, with sea temperatures being nearly the same due to a warm Gulf Stream that surrounds the Island all year round, 18C to 22C. Madeira island holidays are the ideal getaway all year round!

The dress code for our tours is comfortable and casual. Dressing in layers gives more comfort as you can shed and add items when the climate varies. Consider packing.

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • An all-weather coat
  • Comfortable clothing.

Tours operate rain or shine, but in the case of inclement weather, your Tourist Guide will modify the tour so more time is spent indoors. It never hurts to have an umbrella on hand.
