Overview
Great walk in the valley of “50 SHADES OF GREEN”. On the first stretch, you’ll notice the heady scent of the tall eucalyptus. Then you’ll marvel at the relict species of the dense Laurisilva forest, responsible for producing the water carried by the Levada along which we will walk. You’ll pass a few waterfalls, and you’ll even walk under one, which will add some thrill to this experience. When you reach the source of the Levada, you’ll meet with beauty and wonder. On RIBEIRO BONITO “Pretty Stream”, you’ll feel that fairy tales exist… And guess what!? This is where you’ll be able to relax and have a picnic. After this, we’ll go back through the same path. You’ll experience a delightful flat walk with awesome views over the valleys, easy even for non-experienced hikers since it involves no climbing or complicated steps. This Levada will also give you lots of photo opportunities. BOOK NOW!

Good to KnowActivity level
This walk is unsuitable for people with vertigo problems; Some parts of the path are quite narrow, with a steep drop on one side, but most have a barrier running alongside. There are only a few steps to overcome at the start/ end of the walk and a short tunnel. There are bathrooms at the start/end of the trail.
Children: Not recommended for children under 8.
SecurityDon't take risks
Better to go with a guide and relax, instead of getting lost in the mountains of Madeira. Knowing that the mountain guide activates the emergency system is reassuring if you fall or feel unwell. He/she sends a warning and the group’s location to the local authorities, enabling a quick rescue. All well worth the money for the hike.

This lovely walk ends at a magical rock pool.
The most fun part was going through the small waterfall. We were a little wet, though not soaking wet. Thank you for reminding us to bring our rain jackets.

Went for this walk with my partner last week. Easy and flat walk, just over 3 hours of walking. We enjoyed a picnic in the beautiful place where the levada originates. Walking under the waterfall added to the adventure.
