Overview

This tour is designed for those who enjoy nature, gardens, and the traditions of the Madeira Flower Festival. It combines a visit to Monte Palace Tropical Garden with a cable car ride and a reserved seat for the festival parade.

The day begins with a cable car ride from Funchal to Monte, offering views over the city, the harbour, and the Atlantic. Once in Monte, visit Monte Palace Tropical Garden, home to a variety of plant species from around the world. The garden also features a tile collection, a Japanese-style garden, ponds with koi fish, and native Laurisilva plants. A tasting of Portuguese fortified wine is included during the visit.

After exploring the garden, take the cable car back to Funchal. There will be free time for lunch and a chance to see the Flower Exhibition, where floral arrangements from across the island are displayed.

In the afternoon, take your reserved grandstand seat for the Madeira Flower Festival Parade, one of the most anticipated events of the year. The parade features floral floats, themed costumes, and dance performances, celebrating the island’s connection to nature.
