TRAIL4FUN is the real sightseeing experience as you drive a 4×4 buggy yourself on different terrain. It’s a fun way of going to places that would otherwise only be accessible on foot, with orientation and local information.

First, you will have a short lesson about how it works. Next, just follow your Guide’s vehicle directions, to places you won’t typically see on tourist circuits.

We want you to have a unique experience with us so if there’s anything you would like us to include such as a stop for meals, special route or birthday arrangements, please let us know.

Both quad bikes & buggies are known as all-terrain vehicles (ATV’s) due to the fact they can travel off-road.

The average Circuit duration is 2h30 minutes. However, the Circuit can take a bit longer. You go at your own pace.

Yes, but if there is a specific place you wish to visit, not included in our Circuits, ask us in advance, and we will try our best. Bear in mind that some roads aren’t available for 4×4.

Yes, after 10/15 minutes in most cases we assure the buggy will feel like “a natural extension of your body”, easy and fun to drive.

All first-time travellers are required to take a 15-minute onboard training session until everyone feels comfortable and is ready to go by themselves. Training time is part of the overall circuit time. Once you learn to drive a buggy and as long you follow our safety procedures, we assure you will have a great time riding a buggy.

Yes.  Pregnant women and people prone to heart disease, epilepsy and back problems will not be allowed to ride a TRAIL4FUN buggy. We also reserve the right of refusing the allocation of our vehicles to anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substance and any Psychophysical conditions which could impair a person’s ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Within the law, all passengers must be over 7.

An adult or guardian must accompany children under 18 and sign a responsibility statement.

The trail is inaccessible to wheelchair users.

To drive a Buggy, you must be 18 years old and present a UE valid driving licence. You must also have a passport or ID card.

If you are planning to drive a buggy, we advise you to wear tennis shoes or other closed-toe shoes.

Don’t forget to bring a coat or a jacket. Sometimes it’s a colder climate up at the top, and you’ll be under the shade of trees. If possible, use old clothes and as there is a possibility of driving through puddles of mud, bring extra clothes to change afterwards. Make sure you take your sunglasses, GoPro or Camera.

At the moment, we have two meeting points – at your hotel (we can pick you up and then drop you off at the end when requested), and at Porto da Cruz (If you are driving your car. Look for our map).

For hotels in Funchal, Caniço, Santa Cruz, Machico and Porto da Cruz: For all tours, we will collect you and drop you off at your hotel.

If you have your car, please select that option, and we will set the time and the meeting point in Porto da Cruz.

Your confirmation email will have the exact meeting point details along with a map, and emergency phone number.

Our vehicle will have a clear card (a banner) with the TRAIL4FUN company logo on the windscreen and, in case of being a group, the name of the group printed on it. Our driver will also have a list with the passenger’s name.

If you are happy with the service you receive, it’s customary to tip your driver and guide. This is entirely at your discretion.

Madeira island holidays are the ideal getaway all year round. Madeira weather in coastal areas is temperate and mild with no great extremes-although the temperature can drop the higher you go on the island so, whatever time of year you visit, be sure to bring warm clothes when visiting the mountains. Obviously, rainfall is higher in the winter, and you’ll probably need to pack a raincoat or umbrella. Madeira’s average temperatures range from 18C in winter to 25C in summer, with sea temperatures being nearly the same due to a warm Gulf Stream that surrounds the Island all year round, 18C to 22C.

Please make a reservation as soon as possible, as the number of buggies is limited to 4 buggies/ 8 persons each time.

Please arrive 15 minutes earlier than your scheduled Circuit time for standard document procedures.

Should you need to re-schedule a booking you have already made, we will always do our best to help.

If the reservation is cancelled at least 10 days, before the activity date, then a full refund will be given minus 5 euros transaction charges.

No reservation fees refunds will be made for no-shows (30 minutes) or failure to produce relevant documents.

We reserve the right to cancel a booking for reasons beyond our control, such as the weather. We will do our best to notify you as soon as possible and do everything we can to offer an alternative date or time. In the impossibility to reschedule, we will refund the full amount paid.
